Privacy policy

Last updated 1 October 2026.

Keep Playing is a training coach for iPhone and Apple Watch. This page says what we collect, where it goes and how to delete it. Questions: support@keepplaying.fit.

What we store on our server

Your iPhone is the main copy of your training. We keep a copy on our server so you can restore it on a new phone, and, if you connect it, so ChatGPT can read it. The copy holds:

  • Your log. Workouts (type, start and end time, duration, distance, average and maximum heart rate, elevation, active energy, effort) and the notes you tell the coach about, like being sick or traveling.
  • Workout summaries for Apple Watch workouts from the last 28 days: splits, pace, and heart rate per split and every few minutes. We delete each summary 28 days after the workout.
  • Your goals, every version of them, and the coach's notes on your progress.
  • Your conversation with the coach, including the short notes the app adds, like "Plan updated".
  • Your plan and your charts.
  • Your account. The ID from Sign in with Apple, the email Apple shares (which can be a private relay address) and your time zone.
  • Your subscription status, and how much of the monthly coaching allowance each coach request used.

What stays on your iPhone

Apple Health also gives the app your sleep, heart rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate, VO2 max and the heart-rate recordings from your workouts. We never store any of these on our server and never share them with ChatGPT.

There's one exception. So the coach can plan around how you're recovering, each coach request includes your nightly sleep, resting heart rate and HRV for the last two weeks, and your latest VO2 max. They pass through our server to Anthropic (below) and aren't stored on the way.

The AI coach

The coach is Claude, a model made by Anthropic. When you talk to the coach, or the app checks whether your plan needs changing, the app sends your goals, your log, those recovery numbers and your recent conversation to our server. Our server sends them to Anthropic through Vercel AI Gateway and returns the answer. Before the first request, the app asks for your permission to do this.

Anthropic and Vercel process these requests on our behalf. Under their commercial terms they don't use them to train models.

ChatGPT

Only if you connect Keep Playing in ChatGPT, OpenAI receives what ChatGPT reads: your workouts, goals, plan, notes and conversation with the coach. It never receives sleep, HRV, resting heart rate or heart-rate recordings. What happens inside ChatGPT is covered by OpenAI's privacy policy. You can disconnect at any time in ChatGPT or in the app.

Who processes your data

  • Apple: Sign in with Apple, payments, and Apple Health on your iPhone.
  • Clerk: accounts and sign-in.
  • RevenueCat: subscription status.
  • Vercel: our server and AI Gateway, in Frankfurt, Germany.
  • Neon: our database, in Frankfurt, Germany.
  • Anthropic: the coach's model.
  • OpenAI: only if you connect ChatGPT.

We don't sell your data, use it for advertising or share it for tracking. Health data from Apple Health is used only to coach you.

Keeping and deleting

We keep your data while you have an account. To delete it, open Settings in the app and tap Delete account. That removes everything on our server and your Clerk account at once, and revokes the app's Sign in with Apple access. Deleting your account doesn't cancel your App Store subscription. Cancel it in your Apple account settings.

You can download your data at any time from Settings → Export data, and ask the coach to correct anything in your log or goals.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it. If you're in the EU or UK, you also have the right to object to processing and to complain to your data protection authority. We process your data to provide the service you subscribed to, and your health data with your explicit consent, which you give in the app and can withdraw by deleting your account.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
